This Phase Linear preamp is in good cosmetic condition. It’s dusty more than anything else with just a few scratches and smudges on the faceplate. It should clean up really well. It’s been sitting in a storage unit for
at least
ten years, but likely closer to twenty. I decided to test the unit with the Phase Linear 400 that came with it, and as soon as I powered it up I got a loud hum for the power amp. Not from the speakers, but from the amplifier itself. To prevent any damage to the power amp, I immediately turned it off and have done no further testing. This preamp may be OK, but since I haven’t done any testing (aside from powering it up) and given the amount of time it say idle, it is being sold 100% as-is. It appears to be all original inside with no modification or tinkering, so this should make an ideal candidate for restoration!

Please keep in mind that shipping costs include more than just the postage itself. There’s also insurance, signature confirmation (for transactions over $750), and packaging materials. We apologize if the shipping quote seems steep, but these expenses really do add up. Sure, we can skimp on packaging and waive insurance to bring the cost down… but is it worth it? We think not. Lastly, if the sum of all these expenses is significantly less than what you pay, we will refund the difference.
