Description:  This is probably the rarest pair of Patek Philippe cufflinks in existence.  They are Ancient Roman coins mounted by Patek in probably the 1950-60’s.  The coins are
Ancient Roman, Theodosius II. 402-450 AD gold solidus.  They are pure gold coins.  The mountings are in 18k gold.
In 2011 I sent them to Patek Philippe in Switzerland through their New York office of Henri Stern because they couldn’t believe they existed.  They “serviced” them, made sure the coins were not loose, polished the backs and sealed them up and sent them back.  They also wanted to show the Patek Museum curator at the time.  I have all the email correspondence and the original Patek Philippe service paperwork.  They are in the same UN-OPENED (sealed) plastic package that they sent them back in almost a decade ago.  There is even a service tag inside the plastic attached to the cufflinks.  Several of the photos(last 4) I have in the listing are older photos from before I sent them so they are not great photos but the rest are current photos showing them in the packaging.  If you would like any other information please let me know.  Will ship these insured and signature required only to verified eBay addresses.
I can’t believe I am listing them but if they don’t sell I am not worried….they can stay in the safety deposit box! LOL
